We Are One

Like nature, we all grow and mature, Each of us striving, just to endure. In this life, we carry light, Like the sun, we all shine bright. Though our forms may differ, Inside, we are all transparent. The soul, unseen but deeply felt, The heart, unheard by some, yet knelt. Like eggs, we may be brown or white, Yet within, the spark ignites the same light. Evil may linger, the devil may call, Yet goodness thrives-God sees it all.                                                              -by keagile

Trapped

I didn’t know where I was, Darkness pressed against my eyes. “Hello! Anyone there?” I cried, But only my own echo replied. The air was heavy, walls too near, I felt the weight of silent fear. I clawed the stone, I tore my skin, Yet no door opened, no light came in. I tried to move, my strength was gone, Despair consumed, I fell alone. For a moment, time stood still, My heart was quiet, against its will. I asked myself why life’s so cruel, Why hope must play a twisted rule. Still, somewhere deep, a flicker stayed, A fragile spark that would not fade. I rose again with trembling breath, Defying shadows, denying death. Though bound by walls, though tightly sealed, Inside my soul, a light revealed. Trapped I was, but not undone, The fight within,  had just begun.                                                     -by keagile

The Girl in Paris

She's tall, like the tower of Paris, Her height commands the sky, yet soft as a whisper. Humble, like the rivers of Paris, Flowing gently, leaving peace wherever they wander. She moves through life, gentle yet strong, Turning everyday moments into song.  Her smile, unshakable, like concrete,  A light that makes the dark retreat.  She brings forth happiness, pure and sweet, With her, Paris is whole, complete.                                                                 -by keagile
